Purpose Part 1: Awareness
In these certainly uncertain times there are many variables that could be causing some additional - possibly unnecessary - stress in your life. With the state of the country and the world it can seem overwhelming and almost impossible to understand, figure out and manage that stress. That is completely normal. We are all in a revolving door of uncontrollable circumstances and doing our best to get through it. The best thing we can do is focus on what we can control - taking care of ourselves.
So here are some questions to ask yourself that can help you bring some clarity and perspective to align you or keep you aligned with your purpose. Keep in mind that it is okay if these are a bit uncomfortable or you’re having a hard time answering them at first.
What is in your personal space?
Where do you spend most of your energy?
Where do you spend most of your time?
Where do you focus most? Where do you focus your thoughts? Your emotions?
What goals have you set that show signs of coming true?
What do you love talking about to others?
Where are you most organized?
Now, take a look at your answers and think about/reflect on what you did yesterday. From the time you woke up until you went back to sleep. It’s okay if you can’t remember what did yesterday, you can just start today and come back to it tomorrow.
Do these answers align with your actions? Are they priorities to you? What actions do you need to take in order to make sure you are aligned with your purpose? How are you spending your physical and mental energy right now?
Answering these questions and starting to notice what you do on a daily basis is a great starting point for taking better care of yourself.
