The Top Ten Ways to Love the Skin You're In

We all have bad days (or months, or years) where we don't feel our best. Maybe we don't love our hair, our skin, our clothes. Maybe we feel too thin, or too heavy. But it's so important to remember that no matter how we feel on the outside, we are all beautiful on the inside. So how can we start loving the skin we're in?

1. Get moving.

Exercise is not only good for your physical health, it's also great for our mental and emotional wellbeing. When we are feeling down about ourselves taking a brisk walk, going for a swim, or hitting the gym can make us feel much better afterwards.

2. Eating healthy foods.

Healthy foods help our body to function at its best both physically and mentally. When we fuel our body with nutritious foods, you'll have more energy and feel better overall.

3. Get enough sleep.

Lack of sleep can make us feel irritable and run-down, which can impact how you see yourself. Make sure we are getting 7.5- 9 hours of sleep every night so we wake up feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day ahead.

4. Take care of your skin.

Whether it's using sunscreen or a giant hat, protecting our skin from sun damage is a necessity. Taking care of our skin is important both for its appearance and for our health.

5. Do what Makes you Happy

Whether it's reading a book, taking a bubble bath, or going for a run, taking some time out for ourselves will help reduce stress and make us feel more positive about ourselves overall.

6. Dress in clothes that make you feel good.

If there's something you don't like about your body, don't highlight it - play up your favorite features instead with clothing that makes you feel confident and beautiful.

7. Surround yourself with positive people who make you feel good about yourself!

Life is too short to spend time with people who bring you down - surround yourself with loved ones who build you up and make you feel great about who you are.

8. Accept compliments gracefully.

We've all been there - someone pays us a compliment and instead of saying "thank you," we try to brush it off or downplay the compliment by saying something like "oh, this old thing?" Accepting compliments gracefully shows that we are secure in ourselves and our relationships with others.

9: Be patient with yourself.

Change doesn't happen overnight - give yourself time to adjust to new situations or changes in your life. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is self-love!

10: Practice self-forgiveness.

Everyone makes mistakes - what's important is that we learn from them and move on. Hanging onto negative feelings will only bring us down and make it harder to love ourselves. If you mess up, forgive yourself and start fresh tomorrow with a positive attitude.

No matter how we may feel about ourselves on the outside, it's so important to remember that we are all beautiful people on the inside who deserve to be loved and appreciated just as we are. Hopefully these ten tips will help get you started on the path to self-love so that you can start living your best life today.
